In another segment of thought leadership at Eyrus, Sr. Marketing Manager Jack Murphy sat down with construction technology veteran and Eyrus Head of Strategy & Partnerships, Steve Baret to discuss the major challenges construction faces in today’s society.
One of the first points Steve Baret mentioned was how there are multiple companies and solutions out there on the market with a variety of specialties. “Most of these companies are pretty siloed and address part of the problems. They don’t really address the needs the industry faces,” Beret mentions. A construction worksite has many diverse and complex entities to it, and there can’t be just one solution. There needs to be one, centralized solution with multiple capabilities to ensure that adaptability and quality are met.
With many companies and leaders entering the construction technology market offering innovative solutions, app fatigue has become a major problem in the industry. “The user has lost trust in construction technologies and this makes it more difficult to find the right solution for certain worksites and workforces. There needs to be a faster, simpler, and more automated solution construction can utilize,” says Baret.
An overwhelming offering of new innovative solutions has left many construction industry leaders scrambling to figure out how to adapt those specific solutions to their site, sometimes deleting their current workflow in hopes of finding an easier path to success. “One of the main roadblocks in the industry is the ability to integrate, and creating a full experience for the people on construction jobsites. We have to reduce steps and not add to current workflows. Construction companies want to find solutions that fit and improve their workflow and not adapt to a new system's workflow,” Baret says. There needs to be a more simple, effective, and straight-forward solution to help managers with their current workflows on site and with their construction workforce.
“A lot of the new construction tech companies team members have very limited on the construction jobsite experience. This limits the efficiency of some of the construction tech companies and do not enhance the user experience on the job site,” says Baret. With this in mind, there needs to be offerings to empower construction leaders, manager, and the workforce itself. Construction is a booming industry, offering labor an opportunity to make an immediate impact and join a profession that is extremely valuable and profiting.

Finding a solution that not only adapts to a construction site’s workflow and workforce, but also provides multiple capabilities, all in one platform, is the future of construction technology. With Eyrus, construction has the simplified, automated, and effective technology resources to succeed now and in the
